My backyard is on the edge of some woods, and there is a stream back there. It is conservation land and can never be developed. Because of this, there are plenty of birds that come to visit my feeders. (Unfortunately, there are also a lot of mosquitoes! In the late summer, there are bats who come to eat them.) Squirrels are also a problem, especially the ones who live in a tree near the feeders. When I can, I set up my camera and try to photograph the different types of birds that stop by. I would like to get a couple of really good pictures of each kind. I only have a few so far, and not all of them are as good as I would like.

Here is a list of birds I have seen in my yard:
Red-Winged Blackbird, Eastern Bluebird, Northern Cardinal, Black-Capped Chickadee,
Morning Dove, House Finch, Purple Finch, Northern Flicker, American Goldfinch,
Canada Goose, Great-tailed Grackle, Rose-Breasted Grosbeak, Blue Jay, Dark-eyed Junco,
Mallard, White-Breasted Nuthatch, Baltimore Oriole, Eastern Phoebe, American Robin,
Chipping Sparrow, European Starling, Woodpecker, Sparrow, American Crow,
Brown-Headed Cowbird, Red-Breasted Nuthatch, Tufted Titmouse,
and a few others that I can't think of off the top
of my head.
At the back of my fence, there is an old dead tree. Woodpeckers live in it.
There are Mallards by the stream behind my house. They have a little pond off of the stream, thanks to the beavers who built a dam. In the spring, there are usually little ducklings with them.
I have read that having a well-maintained lawn is not attractive to birds. They prefer the habitat to grow wild. I really like the birds that come to visit. But I also like my well-maintained lawn! So I have started planning certain ways to make my yard even more attractive to birds, without having to sacrifice my lawn. I have been looking into different things I could plant that the birds would like, but that wouldn't make my yard non-functional. I am still exploring different options.
I will add pictures of new birds as I get them. This will be a slow process...
